Finding beauty in imperfection means shedding the layers, uncovering who we really are; not just who WE THINK WE SHOULD BE OR WHO WE THINK WE HAVE TO BE - then fully embracing that beautiful rawness with love.
To find (and see) beauty in every part of us, for its uniqueness, is what it’s all about.
Being a woman in today's world is a constant battle for many. The false expectations of what it means to be beautiful or successful stop so many women from stepping up and owning the truth of how truly phenomenal they really are. If we can just show them - WHO YOU ARE IS ENOUGH AND ITS SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL - then the world would be a better place. I heard a friend ask a group of people the other day "when did you forget how powerful you were" and it was the most perfect reminder that everything we need is within us, and EVERYTHING WITHIN US IN ALL OF ITS IMPERFECTIONS, IS BEAUTIFUL BEYOND MEASURE.
It is important to raise awareness because these women don't have a voice. This is our opportunity to give them one. We also are so blinded by our own 'stuff' going on, that if we can shed a light on the devastating events and problems going on in these developing countries, we can also be the people who bring light and hope to them. Since learning about WABI-SABI and spending more time learning about what is going on in these countries I was overcome with guilt as to how little I knew. How little we all know. Now, we can do something. If we can spark a global conversation about it, that’s a positive FIRST STEP.
We should commit to learning and education ourselves - Because it’s our duty to make a difference. Living in a country where FREEDOM AND CHOICE ARE OUR BIRTHRIGHT, I feel obligated to raise awareness and be able to contribute to those without a voice. Here is our opportunity to make a difference on a whole new level. When we are educated on the issues going on, then we can work out a way that we can come together to positively impact and make changes that are going to have a global impact.
